| Abstract: | The Ancona area is part of the frontal zones of the centrai Apennines thrust system. The structural setting of the area being characterized by thrust-related folds and transcurrent/transpressive faults which are either lateral ramps among thrust sheets, or else newly-formed (still active) fault segments.
