Abstract: The Marecchia High Valley, among Pratieghi, Viamag­gio Pass and Badia Tedalda, was the object of a geologica! survey to better define the stratigrafic-structural situation and , above ali, to understand the role of ''Val Marecchia Tec­tonic Line''. Aiming at that, we mapped, on lithostratigraphic basis, the Liguride, Falterona-Vicchio and Umbro-Marche-Roma­gnan Units outcropping in this area, recostructing also their schematic stratigrafie columns. The subdivision in units hav­ing different rank and their sedimentologica! interpretation, as well as the cartography of numerous markers and slumps, led to suppose a very articulate morfology of sedimentation basins, in strong evolution, since the Upper Oligocene.
