I MATERIAL CERAMICI DA COSTRUZIONE DI CAMERINO, MACERATA

Abstract

Briches and tiles from historical and present buildings in Camerino city (Macerata -Italy) bave been characterised by severa! methods (optical microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray fluorescence). Have formed phases were identified by XRD: diopside, hematite, gehlenite, wollastonite and plagioclase in large amount. Their occurrence is related to the thermal condition of firing. The determination of the trace elements in bricks and also severa! champs from the Camerino area has allowed to identify the originai quarries of the raw material.
