Abstract: The Umbro-Marchean fold and thrnst belt (Centrai Haly) provides examples of NE-verging recumbent and overturned Neogene antìcliues cored by low- or high-angle blind-tllrusts, which involve lower Liassic platform carbonates (Calcare Massiccio Fm., the stiffer layer of sedimentary cover), whereas in the overlying pelagic sequence (Middle Lias - Miocene) the same amount of shortening is completely provided by folding. Geologica! and structural studies carried out in the southwesternmost p01tion ofthe Umbria-Marche Apennines allowes to reconstrnct the relationship between thrusts and related folds within the Narni recumbent anticline as well as in the Martani Mts inclincd or slightly overturned anticlines. A low angle blind-thrnst is proposed to the recumbent NW -SE trending Narni anticline, characterized by a frontal flat located at the bottom of the Calcare Massiccio Fm. [...]
