dc.description.abstractThe investigation on the Posatora landslide, occurred in Ancona in December 1982, required the installation of 7 very deep inclinometers, carried out by Rodio.The instrumentation, kept under contro! over a full year, allowed significant and interesting data to be obtained on the geometry of the landslide and the evolution of the soil movements. This paper, besides indicating the results obtained, presents a few considerations explaining the slope failure mechanism based on the comparative analysis of the different rates and depths of slip. Given the remarkable depth of the inclinometers altogether over 700 m of pipes were installed - considerable problems carne up about the accuracy of the experimental data. The theoretical-experimental analysis of the possible sources of error and the definition of adeguate contro! measurements rapresented a highly qualifyng aspect of the investigation.it
