FENOMENI DI SCENDIMENTO GRAVITATIVO SINSEDIMENTARIO NELLA FORMAZIONE MARNOSO-ARENACEA DELL'EUGUBINO

Abstract

In the Gubbio area, between Pieve Compresseto and Casa Castalda, a sheet of early Serravallian Marnoso-are­nacea, With basin plain edge facies, overlies the allocthonous Liguride units and the locai middle-late Serravallian Marnoso­arenacea, with basin plain facies. The emplacement of the sheet is due to gravitational sliding from the higher and more internal areas of the Marnoso-arenacea basin, affected by compressional stresses; the Liguride unit acted as a lubricant, facilitating the move­ment of the sheet.
