IL CONTROLLO DELLA TETTONICA GIURASSICA SULLA STRUTTURAZIONE NEOGENICA DEI MONTI MARTANI MERIDIONALI (PREAPPENNINO UMBRO)

Abstract

The control of the Jurassic syn-sedimentary faults on the Neogene thrusting and related folding is analyzed in the southern sector of the Martani Mountains (Umbrian pre­Apennines). In the hangingwall of the Mt. Torricella thrust, outcrop­ping along the Serra Valley, two macroanticlines (trending N-S) can be observed. The Mt. Torricella anticline is the more eastern and displays towards the north an abrupt change of axial trend from N-S to E-W. In outcrop, this fold develops axially for about 6 km and shows a flat crest and a vertical to overturned forelimb with depth. [...]
