Abstract: An Oligocene and Neogene evolutive scheme for the area comprised between the Balearic Basin and the Northern Apennines is proposed. In northeastern Corsica, thrusting of ophiolitic and continental units over the hercynian basement of the Corsica-Sardinia Massif is recognized until Oligocene.
