Abstract: In this paper a balanced cross section from Gran Sasso chain to adriatic coast will be discussed. This geologica! cross section crosses the East Abruzzi Apennines thrust system that risults made of several tectonostratigraphic units (from west to est): Gran Sasso Unit, Montagna dei Fiori - Laga - Mt.La Queglia Unit, Marrone Unit, Cellino-Maiella Unit (Fig. 1). The cross section, balanced and retrodeformed, is based on geological surface and subsurface data (well logs) and seismic profiles. It has been executed using with a tectonic style where the sedimentary cover is detached from the basement which is, in its turn, involved in the deformation. The sole thrust of the cover is placed at 12 Km depth, according to a magnetic basement depth. W e deal to define structural style, shortening and slip rate; besides with the age of some clastic depositis that postdated the main thrust, we could define the cronology of this sector of the Chain.
