ROTAZIONI TETTONICHE DI ETA' MESSINIANA NELL'APPENNINO MARCHEGIANO

Abstract

lmportant tectonic rotations were found thanks to a study of paleomagnetism in the Messinian Formation of the Argilla Colombacci. The studied area is in the North of the Marche and includes the Montecalvo in Foglia - Isola del Piano basin and the coast between Pesaro and Gabicce. The samples were collected, in 12 sites, as oriented blocks and then drilled into cylindric samples having standard sizes. In some pilot sites both the AF and the thermal demagnetization were used and and both gave good risults. Unfortunate­ly no result was achieved in some of the other sites. [...]
