Abstract: The Cinigiano-Baccinello Basin is located in southern Tuscany and it is delimited by the Monticiano-Roccastrada­Monti Leoni ridge on the west side, and by the Montalcino­Monte Amiata-Monte Labbro alignment on the east side. A new geological research of the whole basin have been performed allowing to better define the Neogenic-Quaternary succession that until now was well known only for limited areas (T.
