DATI A CONFERMA DELLA ESTENSIONE DEI SOVRASCORRIMENTI DELL'APPENNINO UMBRO-MARCHIGIANO: IL KLIPPE DI COLLE CAPPELLETTA (F. NORCIA)

Abstract

A klippe of jurassic terrains found within the Umbria­Marche Apennines, south of Norcia, is described. It testifies to the structural complexity of the thrust system characteriz­ing this sector of the Apennines. This klippe is located between the Mt. Macchialunga­Mt. Patino-Mt. V etica thrust (DEIANA, 1979; CALAMITA et a/ii, 1990) to the north, and the Mt. Sassatelli-Mt. Pozzoni-Colle San Marco thrust (CALAMITA et alii, 1981) to the south. It allows to hypothesize the existence of a single originai struc­ture extending from Mt. Macchialunga to Mt. Pozzoni, over­thrust to the east and cut by a NW-SE normai fault which shows a considerable displacement, and was fragmented by erosion.
