Abstract: A multidisciplinary study (facies analysis, biostratigra­phy, magnetostratigraphy and magnetic anisotropy analysis) has been performed on two land sections, located on the NW edge of the Val di Fine, some 15 km SE of Pisa, with ages between Late Tortonian and Early Pliocene. Val di Fine is a neogenic extensional basin in the Tuscan region, south of the Amo river, Late Tortonian in age. The thickness of the Morra creek section is about 37 5 m with an age between Late Tortonian and Early Pliocene. [...]
