Abstract: Additional data on heavy mineral assemblages and fa­cies analysis of Miocene terrigenous deposits in centra! Apen­nines are here provided. In the Orvieto area samples have been collected from the two main turbiditic sandstones: "Arenarie del Trasime­no" and "Marnoso-arenacea etrusca". In comparison with the Latium-Abruzzi-Molise formations, both turbidites are characterized by an higher ''minerai maturity'' resulting in the abundance of stable minerals. [...]
