DATI SULLA LITO-BIOSTRATIGRAFIA DELLE SUCCESSIONI TERRIGENE NELL'AREA TRA I MONTI SIMBRUINI E I MONTI CARSEOLANI (APPENNINO CENTRALE)

Abstract

Lithostratigraphic, biostratigraphic and sedimentolog­ic analyses have been performed in the terrigenous sequences (Marne ad Orbulina, Brecce della Renga, flysch) outcropping in the area between Mts. Simbruini and Mts. Carseolani. This comprehensive study has led to the recognition of bio-chro­nostratigraphic intervals within these terrigenous sequences and to the reconstruction of the tectono-sedimentary events which controlled their deposition. A complex paleogeogra­phy has been reconstructed in the Late Serravallian - Mes­sinian interval.
