Abstract: In the Simbruini-Emici mountains (Fig. 1) during the field work for mapping the geologica! sheet 376 "SUBIACO" and the surrounding areas, many lithostratigraphic units, with originai complex relations (Fig. 2), have been singled out in the Upper Triassic - Dogger interval. The micropaleontological and sedimentologica! studies !et us recognize biostratigraphical intervals and well differentiated depositional environments, which may be ascribed to three types of coeva! successions (Vallepietra, Fiumata, Filettino - Val Granara). These diversifications occurred since Upper Triassic, were emphasized during the Liassic, and only in the beginning of Dogger in the whole area a relatively uniform sedimentation is established ("Calcari Maculati"). In the two groups of mountains the analogous lithobiofacies are symmetrically ordered.
