I DEPOSITI PIROCLASTICI DELLA MEDIA VALLE DELL'ANIENE: CORRELAZIONI STRATIGRAFICHE CON I PRODOTTI DEL VULCANO LAZIALE

Abstract

Geologica! and litho-structural characteristics of the Me­dia Valle dell' Aniene pyroclastics have been analyzed in order to clarify the genera! features and stratigraphic relations with the other quaternary volcanics of the area. Different metho­dologies have been used to reconstruct the depositional mechanism of the pyroclastic units. The data are consistent with the emplacement as distal facies of the pyroclastic flows related to the Alban Hills volcanic activity and particularly to the I, II and III units of Tuscolano-Artemisia phase.
