Abstract: | A strong synsedimentary tectonics, developed during Middle Tortonian up to Lower Pliocene - but already acting since the beginning of Miocene, a showed by the lithologic and thickness differences occurring within the Bisciaro-Schlier sequence - is active in the nortwestern part of the Laga Basin. During the first phase the Taccoli-Villa Rofanello ridge is developed: it constitutes the southern extension of the Cingoli ridge. The Schlier Formation pelagites are deposited in the whole area till the beginning of Messìnian, when an evident fauna substitution can be observed, while south of the examined area the Marne a Pteropodi Formation and early turbidites are deposited in the deeper areas.
