Abstract: Geographical and stratigraphical distribution of different mammal taxa are described, with a special emphasis on taxonomy, very important in biochronological implications. Taxa considered are: Cervidae, Caprini, Hippopotamidae and Carnivora (Viverridae and Mustelidae not included). Pseudodama, Cervus, Ursus, Canis are genera of great biochronological significance. Among raxa considered Capra ibex, Rupicapra rupicapra and genus Hippopotamus give good palaeoecological and palaeoenvironmental informations.
