Abstract: Recent investigations allowed to outline the geomorpho­logical evolution of the Norcia area during lower Pleistocene. The area starting from its emersion, which ended with the paroxysmal compressional phase of Messinian - lower Pliocene p.p., was affected by generalized phenomena of areal erosion. Those latter, in conditions of relative tectonic still­ness and in absence of a high uplift rate, brought to the model­ling of a low relief surface. [...]
