OSSERVAZIONI STRATIGRAFICO-STRUTTURALI SULL'AREA FRA LE VALLI DEI FIUMI PAGLIA E TEVERE, A SUD DEL LAGO TRASIMENO

Abstract

Are briefly described: a) the litho-bio-stratigraphic cha­racters of the three types of sequences here outcropping (Fig. 2): a1-tuscan-like (="ad affinità toscana") ; a2- intermedium (="intermedia"; new-proposal); a3- etruscan and, particularly, the complex originai vertical and horizontal relations of its units due to tectonic control (Fig. 3); b) the tectonic arrange­ment (Fig. 4): the units of the tuscan -like sequence, in the middle-upper Miocene, overthrust the etruscan units, already dislocated, at least, during Jurassic and lower Miocene; the intermedia units outcrop in different places according to their position in respect of the overthrust piane: eastwards of the tuscan-like units if above it; westwards of the etruscan units if below it (Fig. 2).
