Abstract: In order to better reconstruct the Late Quaternary vertical movements suffered by the volcanic island of Ischia (Naples, Southern Italy) a palaeontological and palaeoecological study was conducted on the marine deposits that occur at the top of Mount Epomeo; a resurgent block forming the highest relief of the island. The study was accompained by geomorphological, morphostructural and stratigraphical observations about the relationships between dated volcanic formations, the marine deposits of interest and the huge landslide deposits that covered large portions of the island during the resurgence of Mt.
