Abstract

This paper deals with some results concerning geolo­gie researches carried out in the area of Gran Sasso d'Ita­lia (Abruzzo). In particular a tipical facies of laziale-abruzzese carbo­nate platform edge is defined by means of petrographic­sedimentary and microbiostratigraphic analyses; this fa­cies started during Middle-Upper Lias in the area placed to the south of Valle Augusta, at the foot of Monte della Selva (Sheet 140 "Teramo" of the Italian Geologie Map at the scale 1: 100.000; III SE Santo Stefano di Sessa­nio ).
