LA SEDIMENTAZIONE CLASTICA DEL MIOCENE MEDIO-SUPERIORE NEL BACINO MARCHIGIANO INTERNO TRA IL T. TARUGO ED ARCEVIA

Abstract

Facies analysis has been carried out on two terrige­nous units outcropping in northern Marche Apennines: the Serraspinosa sandstone and marlstone (a turbidite body), and M. Turrino sandstone showing transition from a probable alluvial fan to turbidite characters. Four main lithofacies were distinguished in the Ser­raspinosa sandstone and mar Istone: a) pelitic-arena­ceous; b) arenaceous-pelitic; c) arenaceous and d) chao­tic.
