Abstract

The bibliography on the topic is vast, and the present work does not review ali the literature, but sum­marizes data from the more important studies on geolo­gie consequences deriving by the action of heavy storms (mainly of hurricane type) and of tsunamis in Recent time spans. The importance and the difficulties to reco­gnize the geologie response caused by these events in the fossil record are also emphasized.
