| Abstract: | The results of a biostratigraphic study carried out on Mesozoic shelf facies sediments in upper Val d' Agri (Lucania, southem Apennines), are illustrated and discussed. The stratigraphic sequence from Jatest Trias to late Cretaceous was reconstructed and the tectonic contact on the top of the Lagonegro basin units was tested, while an interpretation is proposed for the depositional environment characterizing the Mesozoic carbonate sedimentation in the investigated area.
