Abstract: The detailed geologica! survey of the Apiro area (Marche Apennines, central Italy) located an important thrust in the Miocene sequence of the estern lirnb of Alifomi Syncline. This syncline, comprised between Mount San Vicino Anticline in the West and Villa Strada Anticline in the East, wholly belongs to the hanging wall. The Miocene sequence overthrusts Messinian eva­poritic deposits, which constitutes the foot wall. [...]
