Abstract: Structural investigations and detailed geologica! mapping were carried out in the Coastal Chain of the Calabrian Are in arder to define the architecture of the thrust belt and the structural history of the carbonate Cetraro Unit. The latter is made up by Triassic Phyllites covered by Metalimestones/Evaporites metamorphosed to greenschist facies and, locally, to higher pressure. The thrust architecture of the Coastal Chain presents a preTortonian nappe stack, characterized by low-angle contacts among thrust sheets, displaced by post-Messinian out-of-sequence high-angle thrusts.
